Understanding can bridge any brokenness.
Conversations and communication become gentler and more productive as Mercury moves into Libra on September 14th, the same day as the Piscean full moon and Venus’ transit into this sign as well. Mercury in Libra will offer big changes in our relationships, love horoscopes, and personal lives.
In astrology, Mercury is the planet that rules our minds and communications, so when he moves into balanced and peaceful Libra, those hard to have conversations suddenly become easier. While we recently had a stellium of planets within Virgo that proved to be more challenging, come the end of the month around the 28th and 29th, we will have another stellium — this time, in Libra.
While this Mercurian transit only lasts until October 3rd, we are seeing a dramatic change of energy as we experience more planets leaving Virgo and moving into Libra.
Libra is a feminine sign, one that believes in fairness, balance, kindness and love. Libra doesn’t want to fight, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to become passive and just give up, especially if it’s in the name of reciprocity. It’s this sign that repairs relationships, brings two opposites together on common ground, and has us not just understanding what compromise means but truly acting upon it too.
Libra, though pictured as the scales, is also the sign that rules intimate relationships, meaning ourselves with another. While this will primarily affect those relationships that are romantic in nature, we also might find ourselves making up with a family member, close friend or even a coworker.
Virgo season was a hard one for so many. While there were many auspicious elements to it including a Black Moon in Virgo, it didn’t feel like we were really able to enjoy it. Many unexpected situations occurred during this time, and it felt like as soon as we had recovered from one thing, we were faced with another.
There was also this slow pace that many of us felt hindered by in some ways. Almost as if we couldn’t move ahead in the ways we wished or that we weren’t able to bring to fruition what we had planned.
We were experiencing blocks, and then with so much happening astrologically the first week or so of September, none of us had a break. We didn’t have time to process what was going on. We didn’t have an opportunity to settle ourselves or to even absorb the lessons that whatever we were going through was trying to teach us.
Whether we wanted it to be or not, this was a season of working. Working on ourselves, working on our dreams, on our relationships and diligently planting those seeds we hope will grow in the months and years to come.
But everything does have a season, and as we get ready to welcome the Autumnal and Vernal Equinoxes in just a week, we are preparing for our own shift. Mercury in Libra is very different energy than Virgo. We’re going to be less analytical, less critical and even at times logical.
There is always that risk of overthinking during Virgo season, and it feels like with the stellium of planets, this time, no matter how we were aware of it, we couldn’t stop ourselves from going to “the dark side” of our thoughts.
Perhaps in some ways we lost some hope during Virgo season but weren’t even aware of it because we were so focused on what we should be doing or trying to plan life. All of that changes though on the 14th. A day when it’s not just a Piscean full moon in the constellation of the Phoenix, but Mercury and Libra well as the Mars Neptune Opposition. All on one day.
That expression “Everything can change in a day” comes to mind, because if there is one moment that will prove to be true, it will be this one.
Mercury in Libra wants to heal. It’s not about self-sacrifice or forgetting, but in about how can we restore fullness to something that is broken. How can we take where we are and transform it into the dreams we still hold? And how can we truthfully make up for the likely messes we’ve made of our lives the past few months? Or, maybe it’s even just as simple as being able to open up and have those hard conversations about our feelings.
While Mercury in Virgo also had too much going on to speak on it in Libra, we will be wanting to have those late-night conversations that last until dawn. We’re going to feel more drawn to open up, to be vulnerable, to express what we feel, and what we envision for our lives. Because we’re going to be partnership-minded in the coming weeks, many of the feelings or motivations we’ll be having will be because of that.
This transit will dramatically affect how we’re able to communicate with those we love, and heal or even solve difficult situations we’ve encountered. But it’s also going to have a significant effect on us personally.
Mercury in Virgo had us overthinking and doubting, where Mercury in Libra is going to have us feeling more at ease, more peaceful, accepting and comfortable within our own minds. This energy change will also have us wanting to move forward with plans or ideas. We’re not going to be overthinking it to death; instead, we will be trusting that all we have to do is take one day at a time.
Even though this is an immensely positive transit and it means nothing but good vibes for us during this time, we do have to be mindful of whether we’re entering a little bit of a Libra coma and being too nice.
Libra loves balance, but she hates to fight and argue, which sometimes, especially for those of us who have a difficult time expressing ourselves, means we’ll agree just to keep the peace. We have to watch that even if we are trying to avoid a big blowout, we’re still being our authentic selves, being truthful and also instilling great boundaries.
Because we don’t fix things by giving in. We don’t make a situation better by merely saying yes or even sorry. What truly takes a situation or relationship that was broken and heals it, is understanding. Not just of what has happened, but what needs to occur for it to not happen again.
