The coronavirus pandemic has had major impacts on the sex industry.

Solo sessions are on the up, with sex toy sales booming and porn consumption sky high.

And because of this, there’s one vocation which isn’t fearing any loss of wages or work.

Cam girls, who video themselves acting out sexual acts or fantasies online, are raking it in.

They already work from home, have all their equipment and now have a swelling (excuse the pun) client base.

But in a candid interview, the women revealed that the extra demand has left them feeling like “sex robots”.

Cam girls have seen a massive influx of new customers – including married men

Vice France interviewed four cam girls about their experience of camming in lockdown.

Ava Moore said that the lockdown had been positive for her business, as more people watched live shows and interacted on social media.

This is likely because bosses and colleagues can no longer see what they’re getting up t during work hours, and casual hook ups after work are off the cards.

Her business has grown by 30% since the lockdown.

Ava said: “Since the lockdown, I’ve been spending much more time on social media.

“I can show how available I am at the moment and tease my audience with special offers – a new morning live show and a Snapchat special for the lockdown.

“The Snapchat show lasts five minutes, costs €15 (£13) and allows married men to wander off and pleasure themselves quickly.”

The girls are using lockdown to connect more with customers on social media

March has been Ava’s best month since 2017.

And she’s not the only one who’s seen a rise in custom.

Kat Aluna said that she had more than 300 fans watch her live show this week.

She said: “That’s pretty big. But I don’t necessarily want to ride this wave – I’m putting myself first, because I don’t want to turn into a sex robot and stop listening to my body.”

The only change in her routine is that she now offers free videos on social media and she sometimes cams at night.

She used to make plans in the evening, but now has nothing else to do thanks to lockdown.

Loneliness means that some men are paying cam girls just to have someone to talk to

Chloe Sanchez has found that customers now expect her content to be free, because sites like Pornhub have made access free since the lockdown began.

She now offers a “lockdown pack” for €34 (around £30) instead of €39 (around £35) and it gives access to her website and Snapchat.

Chloe says she often works over 17 hours a day, and her viewers have tripled.

She said that private requests have also gone up by 30%.

Chloe added: “The other day, two guys asked me to stay fully clothed – they just wanted to talk.

“Anyway, I can’t just spend the whole month dildo-ing myself – my body couldn’t handle it.”

Vice France also spoke to Charlie Tantra, who claims that requests boomed when lockdown began.

Then, they died down as so many girls who normally did cam-shows as a side hustle were more available.

Charlie said: “I have the feeling people were excited at first about the idea of being able to jerk off all day, but now that has died down a bit.”

She added that the real issues with lockdown affect sex workers, who make money through physical contact.
