Men who have larger noses have been shown to have bigger penises, states a new study.
So anyone who’s been conscious of their nose length until now may have something to celebrate…
Researchers found that men with pronounced noses also have a “stretched penile length” of around 5.3in.
This is in comparison with men who have smaller noses who have a penis length of 4.1in when erect.
The study was published in the journal Basic and Clinical Andrology.
Data was found by looking at the corpses of 126 men within three days of death and measuring a number of body parts.
Researchers working on the study took into account the height and weight of the men as well as the length of their penis when flaccid, circumference of the genitals and weight of their testicles.
The study, from Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, stated: “The fact that nose size is related to SPL indicates that penile length may not be determined by age, height or body weight but has already been determined before birth.”
They added that an accurate way to asses the erect penis length was to lay out the body and pulling the penis out as far as it will go.
This is known as the stretched penile length (SPL).
Analysis showed that penis length and nose length correlated, but the research team did not find out why this might be.

The average penis size in Japan, where the study was conducted, is 4.5in.
Whereas the NHS suggests that penis size in the UK ranges from 5in to 7in when erect.
Researchers added: “Although our results are useless for forensic purposes, understanding the growing process of the penis or facial features may be very important for extrapolating fetal androgen levels and following male genital functions.
“This study is the first to demonstrate the relationship between SPL and nose size but is limited in Japanese male cadavers, and the reason why SPL and nose size are related is still unclear.
“Therefore, we consider it an interesting subject to pursue from now on.”
